Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in the French city of Puy-de Domme on the 9th of August, 1976. She was the oldest of four children. Her parents who was both dentists and teacher, were aware of and encouraged their daughter's love for theater and drama at the age of a stage novice. Their support was enough to combat her goal of becoming a the first primatologist. There was an immediate rise in her career to become a well-known young actor. Following her studies in 1998 she was a participant in an French television show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers which was sponsored by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors before beginning the journey to become an actor. Tautou was born into an Catholic home, and was a member of the church, even though she was a student in school at the Institut Catholique de Paris. She pursued a modelling career along with her acting career. She is the model for L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel frequently referred to as the Chanel Muse. Alongside her acting work she is also interested in photography. She recently exhibited some photos during the Arles Film Festival with the title Superficial. Her photography largely focuses on fame and celebrity and then turns her camera to the journalists who scrutinised her following her sudden rise to stardom in the film Amelie in addition to several self-portraits. Audrey Tautou's debut role, as Amelie Poulain's leading actor in Le Fabuleux d'Amelie poulain, earned the actress international fame. Amelie was a global success in the field of box office, and was awarded awards across the world. It is the top-grossing French film made in America. After this film's success, Tautou appeared in many film productions ranging including British dramatics like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Long Sunday de fiancailles, and then he moved into Hollywood through Ron Howard's direction of the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code alongside Tom Hanks.
